Crier Gets You Ready for SPC: Boys Volleyball
Jack Dunn '16, Sports WriterRecord: 5-3Keys to Success: The biggest key, above all else, for this team is for everyone to play with confidence. At times this season, during losses to St. Marks, the team allowed early mistakes and miscues to shatter their confidence. When the team took on Greenhill two weeks ago, however, this group played with confidence and had an edge that they had not had prior. In terms of fundamental volleyball, the squad must be able to block in sync in order to effect the big hitters from teams like St. Mark's, St. John's, and Greenhill. With an effective block, it is much easier for the back row to read the hitters and effectively make a play on the ball. This team has been getting better all season and is now peaking at the right time. The team is very optimistic that their new-found edge can win them an SPC championship.Player to Watch: Without question, the player to watch has to be the 6'6" outside hitter Isaiah Levingston, who has lead the team in kills in every single game this season. Levingston may perhaps be the best raw talent in the league, and quite possibly the best overall player. From the Players: When asked about their chances in the playoffs:Jack Dunn '16: "I think we will win."
