Fall Fest!

Little feet run, money is exchanged, and smiles are handed out to signal everyone’s favorite part of Homecoming week: Fall Fest! During this long-held tradition, Upper Division clubs unite at the center of the track, setting up booths with goodies to help support their welfare. Whether you like science, books, teen spirit, or even government, everyone has a passion to be acknowledged while roaming to and from booths.
The world’s capital of love and romance is brought directly to Casady’s doorstep when the French Club sells their fluffy, chocolaty crepes. The French Club, run by Monsieur Pardue and Madame Cockrum, has been making crepes for Fall Fest for ten years and looks forward to this part of the season every year. Madame Cockrum commented how “people love to not only eat the crepes but also watch them be made right in front of them” and this direct process “helps engage everyone in the specialty of crepe making!” Monsieur Pardue explains “The profit we make from the crepe stand contributes to our annual French Week in the spring. Here, we have various cheeses, breads, and drinks students and teachers can vote on to exemplify their opinion on French culture, even if they are not French students!”
Although a mock election is not their selling point, Youth Government advertises their specialty snow cones to eager hands willing to pay. Dr. Harp, club representative, inherited the machine from her childhood church in San Antonio three years ago. She notices Tiger’s Blood and Blue Raspberry are the top sellers. “Everyone should love Democracy, and everyone should vote (if you are eligible)!” Harp preaches to The Crier.
Spirit and cheer are no foreign ideas to Gales. This female-based high school club promotes Cyclone spirit around all divisions. Their stand placed Casady-spirit washable tattoos on children’s faces. They aim for the enthusiasm of young, excited girls. Mrs. James, Gales’ sponsor, explains how “little girls love to see the older girls, and cheerleaders inspire them, making the little girls happy. The girls will also grow older, join Gales, and get excited remembering how they were once young and received tattoos from the sweet high school girls.” Gales Club runs monthly bake sales, is in charge of Winter Ball, and decorates buildings for Homecoming and seasonal sports. The profits from Fall Fest contribute to the outcome and success of these events, so the support they receive helps everyone in the community.
As footfall becomes less vigorous inside the track and limited items are left on tables, Casady School acknowledges yet another successful Homecoming club fair. Everyone leaving the tables emits smiles on their faces, full tummies, and good memories to reflect on. One event comes to a close, opening up the stands to the next affair; the Homecoming football game!
