Winter Sports Preview: Wraslin'

With only one senior leading the pack and nearly half the team composed of freshmen, this year's Cyclone's Wrestling Squad is a young team, no doubt, but that does not mean they lack for talent.From Brandon Burke at the 106 weight class to Henry Espey at 220, the categories are stacked with strong, ambitious boys ready to take the mat.Coaches Mac, Zamarripa, and Pena have created a team poised for success this season at SPC and beyond. Freshmen Nick Armoudian has already received a medal for his performance at Kingfisher's Junior Varsity invitational tournament, and there is sure to be more to come.Players to watch include sophomore Will Bennett, a lifelong wrestler who's brother and father also wrestled for Casady, and Junior Jack Ryan, who ranks among the top athletes at Casady, and one of the hardest workers on and off the mat I have ever seen.I'm also not too bad, myself.The Varsity team faces its first match against Northwest Classen this Monday and then will travel back up to Kingfisher for their Varsity invitational tournament this weekend.
