The Fifth Grade - Grace Hua '23

by Grace Hua '23Middle school is really fun and not as hard as you think it is. It’s really fun when you have lockers. You even get to decorate it! We have recess, and there’s still a lot of stuff you can do like homework, reading, foursquare, ping pong, and playing games in the field. We also have houses and every year each student in the fifth grade gets called to a house. There is Woolsey, Taber, Martin, and Kelly. If you have a sibling you are going to be in the same house as him/her. The houses are for competitions, which can be anything. The cafeteria is fun and the whole middle division eats together. There is a 1st and 2nd waiter. The 1st waiter gets the tray of food and sometimes the 2nd gets the side dish. The 1st waiter gets the desserts when everybody is done and then both waiters set the tables up for the upper division.P.E. is fun too. Sometimes you run the track and play games and sports. If you are in 7th or 8th grade you get to pick sports for every season. The coaches are nice and friendly and sometimes funny. We also have lockers to put your stuff in. In 5th grade you have fitness testing and you try different sports every 2 weeks.
